Developing your ideas

Developing your own ideas to form a consortium package may appeal to some people and at first sight may appear a financially sensible route. However there are a number of disadvantages to the package developer, firstly it is nowhere near as good a return on time used as you might imagine, secondly there are restrictions on your future involvement in them and thirdly there is an approval process that is very much in favour of those who will be looking to take up the opportunities.

We would not however want to put people off and a website has been developed specifically for packagers, giving them the information they need as well as other information. This is at www.property-club-international.com

Another possibility would be for you to develop a business and look for equity investors, this is not available yet on this website which is put together by Self Build LLC, but we are considering adding it. This would be a matching operation introducing people. At the moment we don't have the approval from Property Club International and New Atlantis International Services Corporation to add this, and it looks currently that instead of adding it here, we will get approval to develop it as a consortium opportunity that becomes a Business Club International service to members. 

Some ideas

Two consortiums for little more effort than packaging one. You will see that a common route being used is to develop an idea as a consortium but to restrict it to a country or region and to then later have a second consortium to take this international packaging out to all the individual countries. The reason this route is often chosen is that much of the work for the two is common.  Instead the packager could develop each of the individual regional packages rather than a second consortium doing it, however there is a considerable amount of work involved in this. The original consortium will want to mostly concentrate on making the business work  and grow, and internationalization is usually far too much of a distraction to concentrate fully on this, however they may want the consortium to be a partner and may be able to offer a range of services to the packager.

The scale of a consortium should normally be such that it can be run by people alongside their normal jobs or other life commitments.  While there is nothing to stop you developing a consortium that involves peoples full time involvement, getting this approved may be far more difficult as it is then necessary to be able to demonstrate to a fair certainty that the consortium can develop at a sufficient rate even allowing for problem outside their control that all participants will be able to derive a stated income from it within a stated time. This is as you will appreciate, very difficult to do, given that by its nature consortiums are designed not as franchise formula but a starting package that a group of people can develop in their own way, taking advantage of the head start provided. 

Packages should not be overdeveloped, we all find it tempting to stamp our authority all over it and formulate a tight definition and tell others how to do things, when we have to empower people and provide them with a skeleton on which they can develop their own enterprise. 

Developing packages, is a practical way for some people to play a very useful role, and for some who can manage their time and research well can be economically a variable operation, as well as providing some creative rewards in the form of job satisfaction. 

Becoming involved in the promotion of consortiums also may be a good grounding as then you will start to see the driving interest of those who become involved at first hand - see the page on this, it is rewarded well.

Another route

In some cases a person will have an idea that they wish to develop and make use of the connections and inter-trading  within the consortiums etc, and not want to sell or develop this idea to others, but to promote and run the opportunity themselves.   If this route is the one that is more appealing to you, you really want to develop a business and work closely with New Atlantis Trusts, consortiums, service providers etc, and get so many benefits from near zero marketing cost to knowing that you are dealing with a nice group of businesses that operate to the highest integrity, then consider becoming a service provider.  Service providers are businesses that provide services to the other members, some service providers have chosen to have no other customers but others involved in the New Atlantis related enterprises, Maximum Coverage Ltd, Atlantis Virtual World Ltd and H3 Search Ltd are three examples of companies that will not deal with any customer or client who is not a part of this philosophy. Many consortiums and others of course will look at having part of their income from within the family of organizations and a part from the general business world, so as to get greater income, at lower cost.

The easiest route if you are not currently a member of any New Atlantis club or organization is to join Business Club International, as they not only assist people to get into business but are a New Atlantis trust and co-ordinate the service providers.

The concept of Joint Venture Consortiums is a part of a philosophy by a non profit organization called New Atlantis, it has no connection with politics or religion and exists to improve the quality or peoples lives. This concept is administered through New Atlantis International Services Corporation, who have issued the master franchise to Property Club International, who are the member organization for people  involved in becoming partners in consortiums, and represents people with interest in real, intellectual, internet and other property rights. Property Club International also have to approve all consortium opportunities before they can be offered. Throughout JVC, consortium and syndicate can be taken to mean the same.

People who take part are all active participants, involving time and their own expertise.
